Equalization of digital radio channels with large multipath delay for cellular land mobile applications

چکیده
A new maximum a posteriori (MAP) equalizer is proposed for digital radio links affected by large multipath delays. The “sparse” nature of the channel, where a few nonzero powerful taps are spaced by many negligible taps, is exploited to achieve a complexity proportional to the number of nonzero taps. When the channel is time-varying, an efficient nonlinear Kalman-like channel estimator is employed to track only the nonzero taps.

Performance analysis of equalization techniques for MIMO systems in wireless communication
In mobile communications systems, data transmission at high bit rates is essential for many services such as video, high quality audio and mobile integrated service digital network. When the data is transmitted at high bit rates, over mobile radio channels, the channel impulse response can extend over many symbol periods, which leads to Inter-symbol interference (ISI). Orthogonal Frequency Divi...

In this paper we propose a new space diversity scheme for broadband PLC systems using orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) transmission combined with single-carrier frequency-domain equalization (SC-FDE). To apply this diversity technique to PLC channels, we first propose a new technique for combining SC-FDE with OSTBCs applicable to all dispersive multipath channels impaired by impulsive...

متن کاملA Tap Weight Selection Method for Equalization of Wireless Channels with Large Multipath Delay
In this work we exploit the sparse nature of digital radio channels affected by large multipath delays towards complexity reduction of adaptive equalization algorithms. A sparse channel is defined here as the one having a few nonzero powerful taps separated by many negligible taps. The terrestrial High Definition Television (HDTV) channel model is considered here as a practical example of a spa...
